On  August 15 1620, the Mayflower set sail from Southhampton, England with 102 Pilgrims aboard looking for Religious freedom in a New World.
118 years later, the Johan Wetzel Family would set sail from England for the same New World. October, 1738 their ship, the “Charming Nancy” owned by Benedict Arnold, would land on the East Coast of what was then the 13 Colonies.
Just a few decades later, in the Spring of 1775 Captain John Wetzel was found serving under the command of a man named General George Washington, who would lead his troops through what is now known as the Revolutionary War, culminating in the Freedom of the 13 Colonies from British rule, and the Rise of what is now the United States of America!
So, when the you see the Flag, remember that the Wetzel’s were there when it all began!!
BTW: There have been Wetzels in every war since 1775.
Just thought you might like to know.
